Microscopy and fish diseases in theory and practice

The "Microscopy and fish diseases" seminar took place in the sera training center in Heinsberg for the second time in this year. Under the guidance of the experienced lecturer Dieter Untergasser, the 16 participants learned the correct use of a microscope including microphotography on September 11, 2018, the first day of the booked-out event.

This knowledge prepared them well for the second part that took place on the next day. Here, the participants were taught the basics of ichthyopathology and fish anatomy, as to enable them to conduct an expert examination of fish and diagnosis. If this knowledge is further enhanced in professional practice, the participants will be able to conduct parasitological examinations on fish and combat pathogens in directed and preventive ways by themselves in the future.

The next events in the sera training center will take place soon:

  • October 16, 2018: VDA/DGHT Further education Expertise § 11: "Measures for keeping fish in sale tanks healthy"
  • October 23 - 25, 2018: Expertise trainings and exams § 11 of the German Animal Protection Act for aquarium (fresh and marine water) and pond care
  • November 21, 2018: 4th seminar for veterinarian

In every year, sera organizes and holds several seminars and trainings for employees in the pet trade. The long-term lecturer and seminar director is Dieter Untergasser, who will present the contents in an easy to understand an practical way to the participants.
