On a total area of 3,500 m² (37,634 ft²), 7,800 additional pallet storage spaces, a highly modern dispatch area providing the employees with an efficient working environment, as well as further office and laboratory rooms, are being created. The new building will be connected to the existing building complex of the sera company. “The reason for the expansion lies in additionally required capacities for order picking and for the laboratory”, explains sera owner and managing director Josef Ravnak. “This will allow us to optimize internal dispatch paths and deliver goods even quicker and safer to our customers.”
The new building also provides the research laboratory of the company with a new location for meeting the increased requirements of production and quality monitoring. Together with the SAP integration in the middle of the year, sera prepares for the future to face the changing market requirements successfully.
Investing in the headquarters of the company in Heinsberg is a clear statement concerning the future of the location. All food and care products for aquarium and pond fish as well as terrarium animals are being developed and manufactured here. “To us, manufacturing ‘Made in Heinsberg’ is a quality promise that will have top priority also in the future”, says Josef Ravnak.
