A water bowl that also allows oc- casional bathing is also required. Tortoise terrariums must not be heated with a heat- ing cable nor a heating mat from underneath as this would desiccate the shell, which may lead to shell deformations. It is recom- mended to attach a heating mat, such as the sera reptil thermo comfort mat, to the back wall.
