Does the sera blue sky support algae growth, and is it suitable for planted aquariums?

In how far is the sera blue sky suitable for planted aquariums (freshwater)? My retailer thinks it supports algae growth very much.

Hello,

Concerning "planted aquariums":
this is actually possible. However, it is mainly used for aquariums with fish from open water (e.g. East Afrikan rift lakes) due to its color.

Concerning "algae growth":
this is not correct - in case of excess algae growth, light is always only a co-factor, never the real cause. Algae problems are mainly related to an according nutrient supply. If this is well balanced, algae will be no problem. Natural waters also contain very little algae if they are low in nutrients, in spite of them being exposed to full sunlight thoughout the day!

Best regards
