The premium sera X-Feeder automatic feeder presented only last year has got a little brother, the sera XS-Feeder. However, it is not actually little. The big food container holds 150 ml (5 fl.oz.) of granulated food, and thus is also ideal when being absent for a longer time and for bigger aquariums. The food amount is set by an adjustor in six fine steps. Accordingly, the automatic feeder is equally suited for small or loosely stocked aquariums and bigger and/or well stocked aquariums. Smaller terrapins or other small terrarium animals can also be fed automatically and regularly with the XS-Feeder.
The number of feeding times can be set to once or twice a day. In case of two intervals, the second feeding always takes place 5 hours after the first feeding. This allows setting the time on morning and afternoon, and feeding twice is possible without any problems also in case of a shorter lighting time.
Different installation modes can be used due to the attachment opportunities included with the kit. For instance, the sera XS-Feeder can be positioned on a hood using the included pedestal. But the new automatic feeder is also excellently suited for using it with an open tank. To do so, it is simply attached to the aquarium glass with the also included holder clamp.
