Floating algae (green water), sludge and water cloudiness caused by mechanical particles obstruct the view into the pond. At an advanced stage, cloudiness is not only unsightly but can also lead to biological problems, such as variations of the pH value (suddenly sinking pH levels), a lack of oxygen and stunted plants due to a lack of light.

Pond Crystal Clear is a special medium, that retains its shape, for the mechanical filtration of the finest particles in the pond. Compared to normal filter wool, Pond Crystal Clear can even remove floating algae in a short time and reliably bind them in its 3D fiber structure. The round shape of the filter medium prevents the filter from clogging and ensures continuous water flow. Pond Crystal Clear can be reused by simply washing it out, thus protecting the environment in the long term. It can be placed in the pressure filter or in the flow-through filter as the last step of fine filtration, or in a separate rapid filter.

Typical applications include ponds with high fish stock density and water bodies with high levels of pollution by pollen, road dust or other mechanical impurities. Ideally, Pond Crystal Clear should be used along with the UV-C clarifier to quickly remove dead floating algae from the pond ecosystem.
