NEW LOOK.

Quality, sustainability, innovation - this is what sera stands for. We have not only internalized these commitments, but also pass them on to our partners and customers. An essential aspect is, of course, our brand identity. The core element of the sera brand, the logo, had not been changed since the company was founded. The packaging design has also only been updated in a reduced form in the last few years - most recently in 2017, when almost all foods were successively converted to “Nature”.

In the background, sera has repositioned itself for the future and set an important course for the company over the past three years. These changes, together with our efforts to communicate even better our commitments mentioned above, have led to a large-scale rebranding project. Ranging from the logo and tagline to the packaging design and advertising materials - sera’s complete brand identity was closely reviewed and relaunched.

Logo & Tagline | Proven concept now even better

Our new logo marks an important milestone for sera and adds a modern touch to our look with its minimalist design and clear typeface. The new tagline “we love nature” reflects our commitment to nature. sera is aware of their responsibility towards animals, people and the environment. Sustainability has long been a central concern for us and extends from the resource-saving energy supply of our headquarters in Heinsberg to production and distribution. In addition to our aim of enabling appropriate animal keeping with the help of our products, we are also committed to species conservation: with our annual calendar 2024, we were able to generate a total donation of €25,000 for wildlife conservation projects and organizations worldwide thanks to the support of our customers. “We love nature” is therefore not just a slogan, but something that sera puts into practice every day.

Koi Professional & pond food | The first products in a new design

Just in time for the start of the pond season, the Koi Professional line, our premium food for koi, is being released in a modern, completely revised packaging design. The new look ensures a uniform shelf layout and the clear imagery on the products allows easy orientation.

A lot of information is required to determine which food is suitable for your own animals. The most important information is immediately available at a glance on the new packaging. For example, it is immediately clear for which water zone and animal size the food has been developed. Special properties or functions, such as the strengthening of the immune system or color enhancement, as well as important ingredients can also be quickly identified. As you can see here, this is a food that contains 4% insect meal (Hermetia), which strengthens the immune system and is suitable for small fish that feed on the water surface.


SAME QUALITY.

Over the past five decades, sera has gained a first-class reputation thanks to its many years of experience, high product quality, expertise and reliability. Aquarists, terrarium keepers and garden pond owners worldwide appreciate the high-quality products from Heinsberg. For this reason, we took a close look at each product as part of the rebranding process and analyzed whether any changes were necessary in terms of content as well as the new packaging design.  

Our first two product lines to appear in the new look are pond foods. We only made small optimizations to the proven compositions. Koi Professional, for example, was the last food range to be converted to “Nature” and does not contain any dyes nor preservatives. This of course does not affect the quality of the food, but on the contrary, actually represents an optimization. We have also expanded the range where necessary. Koi Professional Junior, for example, which has been specially developed to meet the requirements of small koi, has been added to our Koi Professional range. Two new food types have been added to our pond food: Pond Gammarus Mix (protein snack) and Pond Junior (rearing food).


OUR COMMITMENT.

As a company that is specialized in the manufacture of high-quality products, it is of course important to us to produce according to the highest quality standards. We have been producing our food and care products (including treatments) on site in Heinsberg for over five decades now. We continuously carry out our own quality controls on the incoming raw materials, as well as during and after production, which are confirmed by external laboratories. We therefore remain true to our commitment to quality “Made in Germany”. The combination of German production and carefully selected ingredients contributes significantly to the quality of our products.

In order to provide you and your pets with the best possible products of constant high quality, we work every day to make our products even better. We are changing the industry with our innovations. For example, we were the first manufacturer of ornamental fish food that did not use any dyes nor preservatives (“Nature”). Another example are our cans made of bioplastic with a sugar cane content of 35%. It is the first can that may not only be completely recycled but at the same time also largely consists of sustainable raw material. Such products actively contribute to CO2 reduction.

Queremos utilizar ao máximo o material existente – também por uma questão de sustentabilidade. Portanto, é possível que ainda se encontre o antigo design de sera nas prateleiras ou produtos com o novo design ao lado de produtos antigos. Tal como foi referido acima, estamos a começar com a nossa linha de alimentos para peixes de lago e, passo a passo, continuaremos com toda a nossa gama.
