How long do pH measuring electrodes last?
How long does a sera pH measuring electrode "last", and where do I find the manufacturing date, please?
Hello,
as an average, the electrodes will last approximately 2 years from the date of manufacture.
You will find the date on the shaft of the electrode itself - the code consists of 2 letters and two digits.
They could, for example, look like "GP 11":
- the first letter codes the last digit of the manufacturing year (in this example: G = 7 -> 2007)
- the digits do so for the month (11 = November)
sera pH electrodes that have a seven digit code are considerably older, and are in any case way beyond the recommended usage time.
