Is a CO2 system by all means necessary?

Do you really need a CO2 system by all means to make the plants grow nicely? My plants: Java fern, giant corkscrew, Echinodorus bleheriEchinodorus macrophyllus.

Hello,

this depends only on the plant species, there are also species that do well without CO2 fertilization.

In a slightly simplified manner, you could say that bright green and fast growing plants (e.g. Cabomba) require more COthan dark and rather slow growing species (e.g. Anubias).

The above mentioned plants are slowly (Java fern) to medium fast growing plants.
A CO2 system is not required by all means, but it will improve the growth of the Echinodorus and the Vallisneria, provided the general conditions are suitable otherwise.

So it actually makes sense!
