Is a CO2 reactor required for CO2 fertilization?

I heard that you need a so-called reactor for operating a CO2 control unit. What is this device needed for, and what does it do?

Hello,

the reactor is not especially required for the control unit, but generally for CO2 fertilization. It ensures the CO2 dissolves completely in the aquarium water.

The sera CO2 reactor uses water pressure (taken from the filter outlet or from a separate small pump) for this purpose. An efficiency rate of 100% is achieved with correct adjustment, i.e., the CO2 is entirely dissolved in the water without any loss.
