Pond care made even easier – with a new product design
Garden ponds are complex ecosystems exposed to a wide range of environmental influences. Temperature variations, fresh or rainwater, but also changes in fish stock can have a strong effect on the water parameters. You should therefore always monitor them, so that you can react quickly to any changes.
Clear and self-explanatory
Following the relaunch of the pond fish food last year, the care range has now been reworked and redesigned. The water conditioners and fertilizers have been adapted to the new design language. Clearly structured labels simplify orientation and contribute significantly to product identification and thus to solving problems. International product names are supported by the product function in the respective national language. Icons on the front side also indicate the most important properties. Individual color codes make it even easier to identify the product.
Three steps to success
Protecting, promoting, reducing. The pond.care products can be divided into these three categories. Three icons – a shield for “Protecting”, an upward arrow for “Promoting” and a downward arrow for “Reducing” – illustrate these concepts. The three symbols are large and shown in the center of the new product packaging, providing quick and clear orientation.
Protecting from external influences
The products Pond Water Protector, Pond Water Stabilizer and Pond UV Blocker are used for prevention and protection of the pond against external influences through fresh water, rainwater or excessive sunlight. The water conditioner Pond Water Protector primarily binds heavy metals and chlorine from tap water and is therefore essential for the first filling or partial water changes. At the same time, it adds important minerals to the water and creates optimal conditions for Koi and other pond fish.
Pond Water Stabilizer stabilizes the water parameters and creates a stress-free and safe habitat for the animals. If the water is too soft – whether due to heavy rainfall, after winter or refilling – it may be necessary to stabilize the pH value by increasing the carbonate hardness and total hardness in order to prevent suddenly sinking pH levels. Pond UV Blocker protects, in particular, ponds and fish that are exposed to strong sunlight. The humic acids it contains reduce UV transmission and thus protect the water from cloudiness. At the same time, the humic substances protect the sensitive mucous membranes of the fish.
Using nutrients and bacteria in a directed way
The reworked pond.care program includes five boosters. These are used to specifically increase filter activity, optimize nutrients in the water or increase the oxygen levels. They can be used both for prevention and for specific pond requirements, for instance in case of deficiencies or a restart. Pond Bacteria Booster supports the settling of useful bacteria colonies in the pond. Pond Filter Booster is specially developed for new or cleaned filters and adds starter bacteria to them. Pond Oxygen Booster can be used simply as a product for immediate help. Particularly in the hot summer months, there is often a lack of oxygen and you can observe that fish are gasping for oxygen on the surface of the water.
Minerals in the pond are essential for the health of fish, plants and microorganisms. They are not always present in sufficient quantities. The newly developed Pond Mineral Booster supplies calcium, magnesium and trace elements. At the same time, it supports optimal color development. Pond Plant Booster was developed to additionally strengthen plants and flowers. The tablets retain their shape and serve as a long-term nutrient depot for all plants that take up their nutrients through the roots, such as water lilies, pond lilies, grass and other blooming plants in the garden pond.
Effectively remove pollutants
The pond.care range is rounded off by the new Pond Sludge Remover and the two products for immediate help, Pond Phosphate and Pond Toxin Remover. Pond Sludge Remover visibly removes organic waste such as dead algae and plant parts. Thus, it eliminates the breeding ground for pathogens and simultaneously prevents the release of phosphate and nitrate.
When redesigning ponds, changing the fish stock or after cleaning filter systems, a dangerous accumulation of ammonia and nitrite can always occur. Heavy metals such as lead and copper can be washed out by rainfall from the roofing and carried into the pond. In these two cases, Pond Toxin Remover is used as an immediate help in case of intoxication.
Too much phosphate in the pond can have many causes, such as overfeeding, inappropriate fertilizers, low-quality fish food or high phosphate levels in tap water. However, pollution by organic material such as leaves, dead algae and plant parts as well as pollen are also a source of phosphate. Particularly in summer, a combination of several factors can quickly lead to a biological imbalance in the pond ecosystem. Pond Phosphate Remover binds phosphate quickly, safely and lastingly so that the resulting particles are collected by the filter and finally removed from the ecosystem when cleaning the filter.

In addition to the very positive feedback on the reworked pond food, both specialized retailers and goldfish enthusiasts asked for an additional food in the Professional line. A premium food for goldfish. The result is Royal Goldfish Color. A probiotic food with 7.4% color enhancing spirulina. The special probiotics included support the much-needed immune system of the pond inhabitants, and thus create the basis for optimal food utilization and liveliness. The high protein percentage ensures optimal growth and a robust body shape. Special variants of goldfish such as Veiltails, Sarasa and Shubunkin like to eat in the middle and deep water zones, so the food consists of a mix of floating and sinking granules.
