Can I keep a tortoise in a discarded aquarium?
I have an old aquarium. Now I would like to get a tortoise, but I would like to know in advance if I can keep it in there on cold days or at night.

no, discarded aquariums are not suitable for this purpose alone for their size, which is almost always too small.
Tortoises require rather much space, you should at least provide abot 2 sq.m. for one animal, because it is likely that the tortoise will spend quite some time in it during the transitional seasons (spring/autumn).
It is of course advisable to purchase as much of the common specific literature as possible before (!) purchasing the tortoise, especially for such fastidious animals.
