Peat (sera super peat) against algae?
I simply doubled the peat granulate amount (sera super peat) after I encountered strong algae growth. Whatever the reason is, the algae problem stopped immediately. Peat somehow seems to be a wonder weapon.

peat is indeed active against algae, even in two different ways:
many algae grow better in alkaline water containing carbonate than in acidic water low in carbonates - and light filtration caused by the water tint is also rather effective!
The only limitation: peat filtration is not suitable for all fish - for instance it would be completely wrong in aquariums for East African cichlids!
