What can I do about elevated nitrite levels (nitrite peak)?
I bought a 54 liter (11.9 US gal.) tank 3 ½ weeks ago, and set it up according to the guide booklets. In spite of all efforts I have trouble with the nitrite level, I always have fatal concentrations. Can you give me some advice?

using sera toxivec plus very generuous partial water changes - however without filter "cleaning" - are recommended as immediate measures. The so-called nitrite peak will then go down after a few days.
Biological filter activation with sera bio nitrivec (added with every water change) accelerates bacterial settling and ensures that the temporary nitrite rise is less severe.
