Do Otocinclus (Midget Sucker Catfish) damage plants?
I have a question about the Otocinclus species. Do they damage the precious leaves of my aquatic plants, as for instance some L catfish do (even on Anubias!)?
Hello,
no, healthy plant leaves will not be damaged. Only already damaged, softened plant parts will be nibbled at, if at all.
In any case, the Midget Sucker Catfish require a balanced diet e.g. with sera Catfish Chips or sera Spirulina Tabs. They will nevertheless eat algae, which is usually desired!
